Chlorine present in tap water is toxic to fish as it destroys the gills epithelium leading to death by asphyxiation. The tap water to be used in the aquarium shall always be first treated with the water conditioner Labcon Protect Plus. When chlorine concentration is too high, some residues may remain even after the conditioner been applicated in the recommended dosage. Labcon Test Chlorine must be used to confirm the complete elimination of chlorine or to indicate the need for an additional conditioner application.
