pH test for aquarium fresh water

pH test for aquarium fresh water. The pH is measured on a numerical scale from 0 to 14, with 7 as the neutral point. Values less than 7 indicate acidity, and values greater than 7 indicate alkalinity. A pH range of 6.0 to 7.8 is acceptable for freshwater aquarium water, and most species live in water with a pH between 6.8 and 7.2.

Feeding Guide

1) Fill the aquarium water to be tested up to the mark 1 of the test tube.
2) Keeping the reagent bottle in vertical position, add 6 drops of the reagent solution, cover the test tube and shake briefly.
3) After 2 minutes, try to match the developed color in the test tube with the one on the colors scale putting the open test tube against the scale and observing from above.

Comments:
- For the accuracy of the result, it is essential to maintain the same size between the drops, hence the importance of carrying out the test with the reagent bottle in a vertical position.
- Do the reading preferably under natural light.
- After each test, clean the test tube and keep it capped.
- Always keep the reagent bottle tightly closed.

How to correct water pH?
Use Labcon Acid to lower the pH (to correct excessive alkalinity) and use Labcon Alcali to increase the pH (to correct excessive acidity).
