FORSKAL OR GOLDEN HORSEMACKREEL - Caranx Speciosus
The Forskal is an excellent swimmer just
as the other members of the Carangidae family like the Jacks
and Pompanos. The
upper body profile is curved more than the abdominal, the
pectoral fins are large, while the pelvic fin is small, the
dorsal fin is at the same level as the anal. The split caudal
fin is responsible for the fish's high speed. The body is
silvery yellow with black bands (alternately wide and narrow).
It reaches up to 1 meter in length. Origin: Pacific Ocean,
Indian Ocean, and Red Sea.

between 22 and 25ºC, approximate density 1020, intense
illumination.
Behavior: Species
is characteristic of the high sea, rarely found on the coast.
Live in schools, but despite their gentle nature they are
very agitated and only the young can live in a normal aquarium.
